Beatitudes Sermon Series

Morning Services – January and February 2019

When God made men and women, as recorded in Genesis, the first words he spoke were words of blessing.

The last book of the Bible, Revelation, opens with words of blessing for those who read it aloud, hear it, and take it to heart.

At the beginning of Jesus’ teaching ministry as recorded in Matthew’s Gospel the first words he spoke were words of blessing.

In what are called the Beatitudes, Jesus spells out eight blessings that result from certain dispositions of the heart. Beatitudes are not platitudes but, as Billy Graham used to say, beautiful attitudes.

This is what we want to focus our attention on as we begin 2019.
